Some of these cities, such as Encino and Pinos Wells, are now in Torrance county, though earlier records will show them in Guadalupe county before county lines changed.

San Jose Church is located in Anton Chico. Parishioners lived in the local areas, plus some records show people traveling from El Chaperito, Las Manuelitas, Los Valles de San Augustin, San Ysidro, El Tecolote, San Antonio, La Junta, La Cueva, Rio Colorado, and Tecolotito. Marriage records (1857-1940) and baptism records (1864-1914) for this church were published by the Hispanic Genealogical Research Center (HGRC) of New Mexico. Contact Angela for a lookup. Our Lady of Refuge Church is located in Puerto de Luna.
