Los Ojios Cemetery

Gerhardt family cemetery at John Gerhardt’s home, four and ½ miles southeast of Puerto de Luna, New Mexico in Guadalupe County. Information given to Don McAlavy, Feb. 26, 2000 by Susan Bailey Eldridge of Ft. Sumner, NM. She colledcted this information in 1990. John Gerhardt was afraid of being washed away by the Pecos River if he was buried in this family cemetery at the house so he was buried by himself a few miles south of the "Los Ojios"ranch house.
